The attack came from inside the house.
Not with violence.
With betrayal.
A financial report disappeared.
A trusted employee lied.
And suddenly Gabriel’s entire organization began questioning who had access.
Norah noticed the change immediately.
The estate became colder.
More guarded.
Gabriel became more distant.
“You’re leaving.”
Norah looked up from Rosa’s medication chart.
“No.”
“You should.”
“Why?”
“Because people around me get hurt.”
Norah closed the file.
“Then maybe stop pushing everyone away before they get the chance to choose.”
Gabriel stared at her.
“You think you understand me?”
“No.”
She stepped closer.
“I think you’re terrified someone will.”
