Chapter 7 - The Man Who Finally Chose Love

Six months later.

London was different.

At least for Lorenzo.

The world still knew his name.

Still feared him.

Still whispered when he entered a room.

But the man himself had changed.

Not completely.

He was still powerful.

Still dangerous when necessary.

But the coldness was gone.

Because someone had finally reached the part of him nobody else could.

Naomi.

She stood outside a small café in Notting Hill, holding two coffees.

When Lorenzo arrived, she smiled.

“You’re late.”

He looked at his watch.

“Three minutes.”

“That’s late for you.”

A small smile appeared on his face.

“You’re becoming difficult.”

She handed him the coffee.

“You like difficult.”

He looked at her.

“Yes.”

---

They had rebuilt everything slowly.

No lies.

No secrets.

No games.

Naomi’s sister Amaya was healthy again.

Her medical bills were gone.

And Naomi had left the life she hated.

She opened a small dance studio with children from the neighborhood.

Something she always dreamed about.

Lorenzo helped.

But never controlled.

That was the difference.

He finally understood.

Protecting someone didn’t mean owning them.

---

That evening, Lorenzo brought Naomi back to the same safe house where everything had changed.

She looked around.

“I remember this place.”

“So do I.”

“You saved me here.”

Lorenzo shook his head.

“No.”

She looked confused.

“What?”

“You saved me.”

Naomi smiled softly.

“Lorenzo Moretti admitting someone saved him?”

“Don’t tell anyone.”

She laughed.

A real laugh.

The kind he never heard from her in the warehouse.

---

Later, they stood outside under the quiet London sky.

Naomi looked at him.

“Do you ever miss him?”

Lorenzo knew who she meant.

Matio.

For a long moment, he said nothing.

Then:

“I miss who I thought he was.”

Naomi nodded.

“That’s different.”

“Yes.”

He looked at the city.

“Sometimes the hardest thing isn’t losing an enemy.”

A pause.

“It’s accepting that someone you loved became one.”

Naomi reached for his hand.

“And now?”

Lorenzo looked at her.

“Now I know something.”

“What?”

“Family isn’t always the person who stands beside you the longest.”

He squeezed her hand.

“It’s the person who stays when they have every reason to leave.”

Naomi smiled.

“And you think that’s me?”

Lorenzo looked at her.

“I know.”

---

One year later, Lorenzo Moretti walked into a small garden surrounded by people he trusted.

No weapons.

No threats.

No enemies.

Only family.

Naomi stood beside him.

Happy.

Safe.

Finally free.

The world still called him a mafia boss.

A dangerous man.

A man nobody wanted to challenge.

But Naomi knew the truth.

Behind the reputation.

Behind the power.

Behind the cold eyes everyone feared…

Was a man who had spent his whole life searching for loyalty.

And finally found it in the one person he almost lost.

The End.
