Chapter 6 - The Boy Who Finally Spoke

Weeks passed.
And Noah changed.
Not overnight.
Not magically.
Healing didn’t happen like that.
Some days were difficult.
Some nights he still woke up screaming.
But slowly…
He started trusting.
He ate breakfast with me.
He showed me his drawings.
He played outside.
And one morning, something happened that nobody expected.
Dominic entered the garden.
Noah was sitting beside me.
The little boy looked at his father.
Then he spoke.
“Daddy.”
Dominic froze.
The entire world seemed to stop.
“What did you say?”
Noah looked confused.
“Daddy.”
Dominic walked forward slowly.
Like he was afraid the moment would disappear.
“You spoke.”
Noah nodded.
Then he hugged him.
Dominic Vale—the man everyone feared—closed his eyes.
And held his son.
I looked away.
Because some moments felt too private to watch.

Later that evening, Dominic found me.
“I owe you.”
I smiled.
“You don’t owe me anything.”
“Yes, I do.”
He handed me an envelope.
Inside was enough money for Tyler’s surgery.
I immediately shook my head.
“I can’t accept this.”
“You earned it.”
“I helped Noah because he needed help.”
“And I’m helping Tyler because you did something nobody else could.”
I looked at him.
“What?”
May you like
“You saw my son.”
