Chapter 4 - The Brother Who Came Back for Revenge
Adrian Calder finally appeared three nights later.
Not hiding.
Not watching.
He walked directly into Calder House.
The security alarms screamed.
Guards surrounded him.
But Vincent stopped them.
“Leave.”
Everyone froze.
Marcus looked uncertain.
“Vincent—”
“I said leave.”
Adrian smiled.
“Still giving orders.”
Vincent stared at the man who had haunted his past.
“You’re alive.”
“So are you.”
A long silence.
Sarah stood behind Vincent, holding Lily.
Adrian looked at the child.
“So this is what changed you.”
Vincent’s voice became cold.
“Do not look at her.”
Adrian laughed softly.
“You used to care about nothing.”
“I was wrong.”
“Because of a maid and her child?”
Sarah stepped forward.
“I’m not afraid of you.”
Adrian looked surprised.
“You should be.”
“No.”
Sarah held Lily tighter.
“Because the man standing in front of me is not the man everyone talks about.”
Vincent looked at her.
And something inside him broke.
Nobody had ever defended him.
Not like that.

He had not returned for money.
He wanted revenge.
He believed Vincent destroyed his life.
But Vincent finally told Sarah the truth.
Adrian had betrayed their family first.
He had made a deal with Vincent’s enemies.
People got hurt.
Families were destroyed.
Vincent took the blame to protect everyone.
Including Adrian.
“You let the world hate you for him?” Sarah whispered.
