Chapter 5 - The Truth Daniel Sinclair Buried

Ivy returned to the Castellano mansion with one goal.
Answers.
She found Marco waiting.
“You talked to your father.”
She looked surprised.
“How did you know?”
“Because my mother told me she received a call.”
Ivy stared.
“Your mother contacted him?”
Marco nodded.
“After twenty years.”
She shook her head.
“This family has been lying to everyone.”
Marco didn't argue.
“Yes.”
The honesty surprised her.
“Why admit that?”
“Because I’m tired of protecting ghosts.”
For a moment, neither spoke.
Then Adriana entered.
She looked exhausted.
“I owe both of you the truth.”
They sat together.
And finally, Adriana revealed everything.
Luca Castellano and Daniel Sinclair built the company together.
They were brothers in everything except blood.
But someone inside the family wanted control.
Luca’s younger brother, Vincent, manipulated accounts and framed Daniel for stealing money.
Daniel lost everything.
His reputation.
His company.
His future.
And Luca was too afraid to fight his own brother.
“He let my father take the blame,” Ivy whispered.
Adriana nodded.
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Because Luca was weak.”
Marco looked away.
That truth hurt him.
Because he had spent his whole life believing his father was a hero.
Adriana continued.
“But before Luca died, he discovered the truth.”
“The ring?”
“Yes.”
“He hid the evidence.”
“Why didn't he tell anyone?”
Adriana’s eyes filled with regret.
“Because he knew Vincent would destroy everyone connected to it.”
Ivy looked at Marco.
“And now?”
Marco answered.
“Now Vincent’s son is trying to finish what he started.”
Ivy froze.
“Vincent had a son?”
Marco nodded.
“Rafael.”
---
The revelation changed everything.
The quiet laundry supervisor.
The man who tested her.
The man who disappeared.
He wasn't just an employee.
He was connected to the enemy.
That night, Ivy received a message.
Unknown number.
You should have taken the ring and walked away.
Another message followed.
Now you’ll lose everything.
Marco saw her phone.
His expression darkened.
“From Rafael?”
She nodded.
Marco immediately stood.
“We need to get you out.”
Ivy shook her head.
“No.”
Marco looked at her.
“No?”
“I spent my whole life watching my family lose.”
Her voice became stronger.
“I’m done running.”
For the first time, Marco smiled slightly.
“You’re not afraid of anything, are you?”
Ivy looked at him.
“I’m afraid.”
“Of what?”
May you like
“Becoming someone who lets fear decide my life.”
