Chapter 5 - The Child Who Exposed the Monster
Damian found Adrian in the old family office.
The same room where his father used to work.
“You knew,” Damian said.
Adrian didn’t deny it.
For the first time, he looked tired.
“You were always better than me.”
Damian stayed silent.
“You had everything.”
“I built everything.”
Adrian laughed.
“You had his respect.”
A pause.
“That’s what bothered me.”
Damian stared.
“You betrayed your own family.”
Adrian looked away.
“Your father discovered what we were doing.”
“We?”
Adrian said nothing.
Damian understood.
Someone else was involved.
“Who?”
Adrian smiled sadly.
“You really don’t know, do you?”
Before he could continue, the door opened.
Lily walked in.
Maya followed behind her.
“Lily!”
The child ran toward Damian.
But then she looked at Adrian.
Her little face became serious.
“That’s the bad man.”
The room froze.
Adrian looked shocked.
“You remember me?”
Lily nodded.
“You were not nice when nobody was watching.”
Damian looked at Maya.
She whispered:
“She remembers everything.”

Adrian had been working with several people inside the company.
They had used Damian’s father’s name to hide illegal operations.
When Damian’s father discovered it, they planned to remove him.
But they failed.
