Months passed.
The Calloway empire changed.
Damian removed everyone involved.
He rebuilt the company.
He ended the secret operations that had damaged his family name.
People expected him to become colder.
More ruthless.
Instead, something unexpected happened.
Damian became human.
Maya remained at the estate.
Not because she needed the job.
Because Damian asked her to stay.
One evening, he found her packing Lily’s things.
“You’re leaving?”
Maya looked surprised.
“I thought after everything…”
She stopped.
Damian stepped closer.
“You think I only needed you because of what happened?”
Maya said nothing.
“You changed this house.”
She smiled slightly.
“I cleaned it.”
“No.”
Damian shook his head.
“You brought life back into it.”
Maya looked at him.
“That sounds dangerous coming from a man everyone fears.”
For the first time, Damian smiled.
“I’m learning.”
“Learning what?”
He looked toward Lily, who was drawing at the table.
“How to be someone worth trusting.”

Later that night, Lily walked between them holding both their hands.
“Are we a family now?”
Maya and Damian looked at each other.
Neither answered immediately.
Because some questions were bigger than words.
Finally Damian kneeled.
“Would you like that?”
Lily nodded.
